Leadtail is seeking a versatile freelance copywriter to join our Content Studio team, specializing in B2B social media content and campaigns. You’ll craft compelling social media copy across multiple B2B clients, creating everything from engaging post captions to visual assets including PDFs, infographics, and video scripts. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team of writers, designers, video editors, account managers, and project coordinators while working independently to deliver exceptional social media content.
As part of our Content Studio, you’ll be the voice behind diverse B2B brands—sometimes writing in the brand voice, other times ghostwriting for executives and subject matter experts.
Position Type: Contract (4-6 months)
Location: Fully Remote (Pacific Time business hours required)
Client Load: 6-8 B2B client assignments simultaneously
Key Responsibilities
- B2B Social Media Content Creation
- Write compelling copy for B2B social media content and campaigns that will be distributed through multiple social media platforms (primarily LinkedIn, X, and YouTube)
- Create engaging copy for social posts that capture attention, support brand recall, and drive direct engagement on the social platforms
- Write scripts and contribute to storyboarding for motion graphic and live action video content
- Adapt source content from clients into formats suitable for social media, while maintaining brand consistency
Multi-Client Management & Independence
- Manage copywriting for 6-8 client accounts
- Prioritize and balance competing deadlines across multiple client workstreams
- Advocate for information, resources, and support needed to deliver high-quality work
- Communicate proactively with team members about project status and needs
Voice & Ghostwriting
- Master and execute diverse client brand voices with precision and authenticity
- Ghostwrite social media content on behalf of executives and subject matter experts
- Switch between brand and individual executive voices based on briefing materials
- Maintain voice consistency across touchpoints for each client
Cultural & Industry Awareness
- Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, and B2B industry conversations
- Pull from cultural moments, industry themes, and trending topics to create timely, relevant content
- Understand what content performs well across different B2B audiences and social platforms
- Contribute insights about content performance and engagement trends to inform future strategies
Team Collaboration
- Partner with designers and video editors to ensure cohesive creative executions across social campaigns
- Work with account managers to understand client objectives and incorporate feedback effectively
- Coordinate with project and workflow managers using tools like Monday, Google Docs, Slack
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative reviews
- Use our core tools (access will be provided): Google Workspace (docs, sheets, slides, calendar, gmail); Monday.com (task/project management, work queue and updates); Sprout Social (social content approvals, scheduling, publishing, and reporting); Slack (routine updates and comms between teams, clients, etc.); Zoom (client meetings, internal meetings)
AI Integration & Innovation
- Utilize AI tools as part of content creation workflow where it enhances efficiency and idea generation
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and social media copywriting best practices
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing around AI best practices for social content creation
- Balance AI assistance with human creativity to maintain authentic brand and executive voices
Required Qualifications
Experience & Background

- 2-4 years of experience in B2B communications, content marketing, or social media marketing
- Must provide online portfolio and/or writing samples demonstrating:
- B2B social media content across multiple brands/voices
- Range of social formats (posts, carousels, video scripts, executive ghostwriting)
- Evidence of understanding B2B audiences and what drives engagement
Core Skills & Attributes
- Exceptional writing abilities with mastery of voice adaptation and brand consistency
- Strong independent work ethic with ability to advocate for needed resources and support
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Comfortable working in a remote team, including multiple modes of communication and collaboration with both internal and client teams (Slack, Google Docs, Monday, etc.)

- Must be available during Pacific Time business hours for team collaboration and meetings
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while maintaining team connectivity
- Excellent communication skills for proactive project management and team coordination

- Detail-oriented with strong quality control for brand voice consistency
Strategic Awareness
- While not explicitly responsible for strategy, having an eye for what works, where, and why will make this role more effective and enjoyable and create additional opportunities within the team
- Curiosity about B2B buyer behavior and social media engagement patterns and how to bring them together will go a long way toward keeping the work fresh and engaging vs. repetitive and dry
- Having a finger on the pulse of social media trends, cultural moments, and B2B industry conversations is helpful
Other Preferred Qualifications
Technical & Platform Experience
- Deep familiarity with LinkedIn in particular, along with other social platforms in a business capacity (X, Reddit, YouTube, etc. – Instagram, Facebook, TikTok are less relevant in this role)
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools
- Expertise in B2B industries such as SaaS, technology, financial services, or professional services
- Experience with video scripting and multimedia content development is a plus
- Experience with AI writing tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, etc.) also a big plus
Advanced Skills
- Experience ghostwriting for executives or thought leaders
- Understanding of social media advertising copy and campaign development
- Familiarity with content performance analytics and social media optimization
- Experience working with creative teams in agency or in-house environments
- Knowledge of social media compliance considerations for B2B companies
- General familiarity with typical B2B marketing practices and channels (events, demand gen, sales support, ops, etc.)
